AI tools for google ads

The google ads experts of the future are the ones leveraging AI to eliminate 80% of the grunt work while focusing on strategy.

I've personally spent the last 2 months testing every AI tool for Google Ads on the market. Most are glorified dashboards with an "AI" label slapped on for marketing purposes. But a select few are genuinely transformative

Here's the truth

A solo PPC manager with the right AI tools can now manage what used to require a team of five.

This guide cuts through the hype to show you which AI tools actually deliver results. No fluff, no affiliate links - just AI solutions that will give you a competitive edge with Google ads.

Google's Built-In AI Tools

Google ads AI native

Most excited chatter about LinkedIn tools for Google ads focuses on new software outside of the Google ecosystem.

E.G.

  • ChatGPT
  • Claude
  • AI Agents
  • 3rd Party Tools

But actually, lots of the real AI magic is going on inside of the Google ads platform, and it has been that way for years.

Performance Max

Launched in 2021, Performance Max represents Google's vision for AI-driven advertising, automatically placing your ads across Search, Display, YouTube, Discover, Gmail, and Maps. When used correctly (with the right audience signals and conversion values), PMax can outperform manual campaigns. The key is providing intelligent guidance rather than surrendering complete control.

Smart Bidding

Google's machine learning now processes over 70,000 signals in real-time, calculating possibilities that would take a human team months to analyze. The AI is pulling in data points you'd never think to consider— from device behaviors to purchase timing patterns.

Broad Match Evolution

Powered by AI, today's Broad Match can uncover profitable keywords you'd never imagine. When paired with Smart Bidding and proper audience signals, it can now find conversion opportunities the human eye would miss.

3rd Party AI Tools For Google Ads

Whilst Google ads is now driven by AI, they're not really designed to give you the absolute maximum profit.

And we've found some supplemental tools on the market really are impressive.  90% of them don't really do anything special - they're marketed well but are pretty useless.

So we've cherry picked the ones you should actually consider trying to level up your Google ads game.

1) PPC.io

PPC.io google ads ai tool

👉 What it does: AI agents for Google ads experts.

🧑‍💻 Where to get it: You can try the AI agents 100% free here.

There's plenty of tools on the market that let you connect Google ads to your favorite AI tool (like ChatGPT or Claude) and we'll cover those below.

But where PPC.io excels is in having specialized AI agents, each built to be world-class at specific Google Ads tasks.

Each agent has deep domain expertise in one area and can analyze your entire Google ads account with specialist training, rather than limited context.

✅ Unlike connecting Google Ads to ChatGPT or Claude, PPC.io's specialized agents overcome several fundamental limitations:

  1. No more inconsistent outputs: When you ask general AI about your Google Ads account, you might get completely different answers each time. PPC.io's agents apply consistent analytical frameworks that deliver reliable insights.
  2. Beyond context limitations: General AI tools like ChatGPT can only process a fraction of your account data at once, missing critical patterns. PPC.io's agents can see and analyze your entire account simultaneously.
  3. No hallucinations: Each PPC.io agent includes rigorous data validation to prevent the "hallucinations" that plague general AI tools when analyzing complex data.
  4. Industry-specific benchmarking: Unlike general AI that can't tell if your performance metrics are good or bad relative to industry standards, PPC.io incorporates vertical-specific benchmarks and competitor context.
  5. Specialized analysis models: Each agent uses purpose-built algorithms optimized for specific tasks - like the Negative Keyword Agent's N-gram pattern recognition that finds subtle patterns across thousands of search terms.
  6. Uses all the major models: It's just limited to GPT or Claude or Gemini - We use literally every major model for varying tasks depending on what needs done, and we even have the models talk between each other which is next level.

As we found after hundreds of hours testing general AI with Google Ads data, even with perfect prompts, you get surface-level analysis that can't match the depth and reliability of purpose-built specialized agents.Provides AI-powered auditing, anomaly detection, and performance insights.

2) Connect Google Ads to ChatGPT

ChatGPT Google Ads

👉 What it does: Connects your Google ads account to ChatGPT.

🧑‍💻 Where to get it: You can access the custom GPT here, but you'll still need to pay over $40/mo to a third party provide called Adzviser to be able to connect your Google ads account.

Warning

The main problem right now is that ChatGPT doesn't speak fluent Google Ads API yet.

This means that despite technically being able to access your data, it does really struggle to give you consistent outputs.

With that said, obviously it's still pretty useful to be able to ask ChatGPT questions about your recent Google ads performance and get ideas on what you could improve.

However, if you're a World-class Google ads expert looking for really top level insights, you're not going to find them here. The reason is that you're just going to get too much hallucinated or incorrect feedback, because ChatGPT simply cannot afford to look at ALL of your account data all at once, much less analyze and cross-check all of the layers of data.

As it stands, ChatGPT often struggles to fully analyze a single PDF document - So when you're asking it to try and analyze someone's entire Google ads account & history via the Google ads API - It's obviously going to struggle here, because you're asking it to do a huge amount of processing, and inevitably it'll cut corners (like it does with everything else).

3) Connect Google Ads to Claude AI

Claude google ads audit

👉 What it does: Connects your Google ads account to Claude AI, letting you chat to your Google ads.

🧑‍💻 Where to get it: We put together a detailed guide on how you can implement this for free via MCP

Limitations

Again like ChatGPT, Claude struggles to analyze all of your Google ads API data all at once.

Additionally, you can only connect 1 Google ads account.

I personally prefer using Claude over ChatGPT, and this is a really great option if you just want to have get some insights & prompt some questions to your Google ads data. But beware, it'll still make a lot of mistakes because it constantly has to pull the data and learn.

4) Blobr

Blobr

👉 What it does: Provides various agents for helping with Google ads tasks.

Blobr.io takes a targeted approach with specialized AI agents for crucial Google Ads tasks. Their suite includes tools for negative keyword identification, bid optimization across devices and locations, and ad copy enhancement.

What makes Blobr.io stand out is their focus on actionable implementation - agents generate ready-to-upload bulk files that can be directly imported into Google Ads, eliminating manual work. Their system combines real-time data integration across Google platforms with predefined workflows based on PPC best practices.

The platform is particularly strong for continuous experimentation, helping users identify hyper-relevant keyword ideas based on search terms and understand competitor positioning over time. This makes it ideal for agencies managing multiple accounts that need to quickly implement optimizations at scale.

Blobr.io's approach demonstrates why specialized tools deliver superior results compared to connecting Google Ads to general AI assistants, they're built to solve specific PPC challenges with precision rather than attempting to be all-purpose solutions.

5) Adwin

Adwin tool

👉 What it does: Functions as an AI-powered teammate for Google Ads management, with a focus on continuous testing and optimization.

This product is really designed for Enterprise teams.

Adwin is a product from Conversion.ai, which takes a different approach to AI-powered Google Ads management by positioning itself as a true teammate rather than just a tool. The platform runs continuously to optimize campaigns through automated experimentation and data-driven adjustments.

What distinguishes Adwin is its comprehensive testing framework. The system automatically conducts experiments across multiple campaign elements—from ad copy variations to bidding strategies—measuring real performance impact rather than relying on assumptions. Their geographic lift analysis for branded campaigns is particularly valuable for larger advertisers looking to understand broader marketing impact.

The platform also excels in conversion tracking and attribution, using proprietary on-site tracking technology to connect ad performance with actual business outcomes. This allows for optimization based on lead quality and lifetime value rather than just conversion volume.

Adwin's optimization capabilities include continuous keyword refinement, automated budget allocation across campaigns, and dynamic ad updates based on performance trends. All of this is powered by their Atlas platform, which aggregates business data to provide broader context for optimization decisions.

For enterprise advertisers who want to eliminate repetitive tasks while maintaining sophisticated testing and optimization capabilities, Adwin offers a more comprehensive alternative to simply connecting Google Ads to general AI tools.

6) Opteo

Opteo

👉 What it does: It's a Google ads management tool that's been around for a while, and doesn't claim to be AI, but we think it definitely is.

Opteo might not plaster "AI" across their marketing, but their technology is genuinely intelligent. Their algorithm continuously monitors Google Ads accounts and identifies specific optimizations that have measurable impact—exactly what AI should do.

I love their human-centric client reporting system as well. It automatically generates comprehensive performance reports that break down complex metrics into straightforward insights for human clients. The system highlights key changes, explains what's driving performance shifts, and presents the information in a clean, brandable format that's ready to share with clients. This saves agencies hours of manual report building while delivering more substantial analysis.

Other standout features include their budget pacing tools that dynamically track spending across accounts and alert you before issues arise, and their cross-account insights that identify patterns across your entire client portfolio. Their keyword optimization tools don't just suggest bid changes - they identify actual conversion opportunities and expansion ideas based on account performance.

They've refined the tool over years of working with real Google ads professionals, it's not just theoretical stuff.
