The builder is the least important decision you will make about a Google Ads landing page. I say that having paid for most of them. The page fails on whether it matches the search, how fast it loads on a phone, and whether there is one thing to click. Every builder on this page can get those three right, and every one of them ships templates that get them wrong.
So this post does two things. First, what the page has to do, so you know what you are buying. Then seven builders compared on the two numbers that matter for paid traffic: the visitor cap and the price of testing. Every price was read from the vendor’s own page on 30 August 2026.
👉 The short version
Under 20,000 visitors a month and you want to test: Swipe Pages at $29. Heavy traffic with no cap: Leadpages at $99. The best testing tools: Unbounce Experiment at $149. Agency polish: Instapage Optimize at $199. One page that never changes: Carrd at $19 a year. A page that exists and does not convert: Postclick, free to start, and the fixed page is yours.
What a Google Ads landing page has to do
A person typed something. Your ad promised it. The page has one job, which is to deliver the promise and ask for one action. Across the 100 Google Ads accounts I can see, the pages that convert have five things in common.
| Requirement | Why it matters | Where builders differ |
|---|---|---|
| The headline matches the search | The visitor checks the promise in under a second, then leaves or reads | Dynamic text replacement: Unbounce, Instapage, Leadpages |
| Under 3 seconds on a phone | Google scores landing page experience into the auction; a slow page pays more per click | Hosted builders vary. HTML you host is yours to make fast |
| One call to action | Two choices halves the rate of either | Every builder can do it. Most templates do not |
| A form that fires a conversion | No conversion signal, nothing for the bid strategy to learn from | GTM or pixel support on all of them |
| A way to test a second version | One version is a guess with a budget behind it | A/B testing from $29 to $199 a month |
The six landing page checks go deeper on the first three. If you want to see pages that pass them, the examples library has 54 real ones sorted by industry.
The two numbers to check before you buy
Your visitors. Divide the monthly ad budget by the cost per click. Across the 53 US Search accounts I can see with $1,000 or more of spend, the median cost per click is $4.34. At that rate $10,000 a month is about 2,300 visitors and $30,000 is about 6,900. Add a third for organic and direct traffic to the same page, then pick a plan whose cap sits above the total.
The price of a test. A landing page you cannot split test is a guess. Four of the six hosted builders below keep A/B testing off their entry plan, so the real price is the plan that has it.
Seven builders compared
| Builder | Entry plan | Visitors a month | A/B testing from | Trial | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Swipe Pages | $29 Startup | 20,000 | $29, included | 14 days, no card | Small budgets that still test |
| Unbounce | $29 Starter | 500 | $149 Experiment | 14 days, no card | Serious testing, Smart Traffic at $249 |
| Leadpages | $99 Grow | Unlimited | $99, manual | 7 days | Heavy traffic with no cap |
| Instapage | $99 Create | 15,000 | $199 Optimize | 14 days | Agencies editing pages together |
| Landingi | $24 Build, billed yearly | 2,000 | $119 Optimize | 14 days | Cheap annual plan, small campaigns |
| ClickFunnels | $97 Launch | 10,000 contacts | $97, included | 14 days | Funnels with upsells, not single pages |
| Postclick | Free, 56 credits | Not a host | None | No card | Fixing the page you already have |
Swipe Pages, the one I point small budgets at
$29 a month buys unlimited pages, 20,000 visitors, one domain, five seats and server-side A/B testing. Marketer at $69 lifts the cap to 50,000 and five domains. Agency at $149 allows 500,000 visitors, unlimited domains and client sub-accounts. Extra traffic is $5 per 5,000 visits.
The templates are plain and the pages are fast, which is the right way round for Google Ads. Google’s landing page experience score is part of the auction, and a fast plain page beats a slow pretty one on cost per click every time.
Unbounce, the best testing once you pay for it
Starter at $29 caps you at 500 visitors, which no ad account fits in. Build at $99 allows 20,000 with no testing. Experiment at $149 gives unlimited A/B tests and 30,000 visitors. Optimize at $249 adds Smart Traffic, which routes each visitor to the version most likely to convert, and it works. The builder is the most capable in this group. The Unbounce alternatives post has the cap arithmetic.
Leadpages, no cap at $99
Grow at $99 includes unlimited traffic, manual A/B testing and dynamic text replacement. Optimize at $199 adds Smart Traffic and heatmaps. The trial is seven days, the shortest here. If your account spends enough that caps are the problem, this is the simple answer. The Leadpages alternatives post covers who should look elsewhere.
Instapage, when four people edit every page
Create at $99 allows 15,000 visitors and no testing. Optimize at $199 adds server-side testing, scheduling, multi-step forms and dynamic text. The collaboration tools are the reason agencies pay the premium. One marketer building one page a month is paying for seats. The Instapage alternatives post is for that person.
Landingi, the cheap annual plan
Build is $24 a month billed yearly for ten pages and 2,000 visitors. Optimize at $119 gives 100 pages, 30,000 visitors and server-side testing. Good value if the campaign is small and stays small. The 2,000-visitor cap is about $8,700 of ads a month at the median click.
ClickFunnels, if you need a funnel and not a page
Launch at $97 includes unlimited funnels, A/B testing and 10,000 contacts. It prices by the size of your list rather than by traffic. For a webinar or an upsell sequence it earns the money. For one page behind a search ad it is a lot of tool. The ClickFunnels alternatives post has the two-minute check for which one you need.
Postclick, when the page exists and does not convert
I built this one, so weigh the section accordingly.
Most people searching for a landing page builder already have a landing page. Their ads point at it. It does not convert well, and the plan is to build a new one somewhere else. Nine times out of ten the fix is on the existing page: the headline answers a different ad, the form is below three screens of copy, the page takes six seconds on a phone.
Postclick audits the page your ads send people to and lists every leak, ranked by what it costs. Then it designs two better versions in your brand and builds the one you pick as a complete HTML page you own and host anywhere, including on any builder above. An audit is 18 credits, two designs 20, a build 60. The free plan is 56 credits for 30 days with no card, which is three audits. Paid plans are $9, $29 and $99 a month .
It does not host and it does not run split tests. It is the step before the builder, and on my own client pages it is the step I run first.
If you would rather have the audit, the fix and the A/B test run for you, that is the conversion rate optimization service , and the first audit is free either way.
How I would choose
- Count your visitors. Budget divided by cost per click, plus a third.
- Decide whether you will test. If yes, the price is the testing tier: Swipe Pages $29, Leadpages $99, Landingi $119, Unbounce $149, Instapage $199.
- Match the tool to the team. One marketer: Swipe Pages or Leadpages. An agency team: Instapage or Unbounce. A funnel business: ClickFunnels.
- Audit the page you have first. Run it through Postclick , free. If the fix is on the page, you may not need a new builder at all.
- Move the conversion tag before the ads. Whatever you pick, the tag goes on the new page before the first click lands on it. The conversion tracking audit checks it fired.
Landing page builder decision, to paste into a doc
MONTHLY AD BUDGET: $______ COST PER CLICK: $______ (median I see: $4.34)
PAID VISITORS A MONTH = budget / CPC = ______ PLUS A THIRD = ______
WILL YOU SPLIT TEST? Y / N (Y = price the testing tier, not the entry plan)
TEAM EDITING PAGES: 1 / 2-3 / 4+
FUNNEL WITH UPSELLS NEEDED? Y / N (Y = ClickFunnels, N = a landing page builder)
CANDIDATE: ______________ PLAN: ______ CAP: ______ A/B: Y/N MONTHLY: $______
EXISTING PAGE AUDITED FIRST (Postclick score ____ / 100): Y / N
CONVERSION TAG ON THE NEW PAGE BEFORE ADS POINT AT IT: Y / N Three mistakes I see with builders
Buying the entry plan and hitting the cap in week two. The sum above takes a minute. Skipping it costs a month of paused pages.
Choosing the template by looks. A template with a video header and three columns of features takes five seconds to load on a phone. Google charges you for that on every click. Pick the plain one and make the headline do the work.
Building a new page instead of fixing the old one. The old page had the tracking, the history and the quality score. The new one starts from zero. Audit first. The landing page analyzer comparison covers the tools that do that job, mine included.
If you would rather have the page built for you
The page your ads point at, audited free
Paste the address into Postclick and read the leaks in a few minutes. No card. For the managed version, where I design and build the page and you keep the file, the landing page service is the one to read.
- What is the best landing page builder for Google Ads?
- For most small and mid budgets, Swipe Pages at $29 a month: 20,000 visitors, server-side A/B testing on the entry plan, fast pages. For heavy traffic, Leadpages at $99 with no cap. For the best testing tools, Unbounce Experiment at $149. Prices read on 30 August 2026.
- Do I need a landing page builder for Google Ads?
- Not always. If you already have a page, the usual problems are message match, speed and a buried call to action, and a builder does not fix any of them. Audit the page first. Postclick does that free and builds a better version you own.
- How many visitors will my Google Ads send to a landing page?
- Monthly budget divided by cost per click. The median CPC across the US Search accounts I can see is $4.34, so $10,000 a month is about 2,300 visitors. Add a third for organic and direct traffic, then pick a plan whose visitor cap sits above that.
- Which landing page builders include A/B testing on the cheapest plan?
- Swipe Pages at $29 and ClickFunnels at $97. Leadpages includes manual A/B testing at $99. Unbounce starts testing at $149, Landingi at $119, Instapage at $199.
- Does page speed affect Google Ads cost?
- Yes. Landing page experience is part of Quality Score, and Quality Score is part of the auction. A slow page pays more per click for the same position. Plain templates on fast hosts win on cost even when they look less impressive.
